It's Liang Po Po!


Don't pooh-pooh the magic of an old lady and her shuffle. Ask Jack Neo and his team if you don't believe us. MOHD ISHAK took his camera along to the premiere of Liang Po Po - The Movie, held at Lido last Friday.

IT'S BREAKING RECORDS

OVER the weekend, Liang Po Po - The Movie grossed $183,885 in sneak Previews, the highest for any local film, ever.

It's breaking records even before opening for regular shows.

Shown on 30 screens, it even did better than Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park ($171,430) and Prince of Egypt ($147,392), United International Pictures said.

The charity premiere of the film was organised the Community Chest and Singapore Film Society, in association with United International Pictures and Raintree Pictures. It was sponsored by SingTel.

Proceeds from fundraiser will go to the Bright Hill Evergreen Home for the aged, sick and, destitute.
