A-Gu pumps Gas in a Film Debut

A-Gu, the Malaysian singer who charmed fans with his "country ways" and humour, is making his movie debut.

Expect a hilarious performance from him as he teams up with Jack Neo in the Raintree production, Liang Po Po- The Movie.

It is a minor role, but he is excited. " I am acting as an impatient helper in a gas station who loves to ogle at girls. I appear in one scene only, so shooting will be over for me in a few hours!" he said.

"I agreed to take part in the movie because I think it's fun. Besides, I could get some experience in movie-making, too," he added.

Calling it "an act of friendship", the generous singer is not asking for a single cent for his role.

But this will not be his first attempt at acting. After leaving secondary school, he "starred" in a TV show.

"I played a coffee-boy, and my face was onscreen for 10-seconds. Heh heh! I actually look quite good."

He now has dreams to be a director. " I can call the shots, while others act what!" he said.
