MOVIE STAR FANN
Fann
Wong's debut movie, The Truth About Jane And Sam, will hit the
cinemas on July 8.
Produced by TCS's film
arm, Raintree Pictures, it is directed by Hongkong filmmaker
Derek Yee Tung Shing (That's Life My Darling) and stars Taiwanese
newcomer Peter Ho.
United International Pictures
will distribute the film.
Fann plays Jane, a streetwise
Hongkong girl from a broken family who is disillusioned with
life and doesn't believe that true love exists.
She changes when she
falls for Sam (Peter), a naïve and enthusiastic Singaporean
guy from a well-to-do family who moves to Hongkong to work as
a magazine reporter.
On her first experience
acting for the silver screen, Fann said:
"Because of the big screen,
the way you act has to be different.
"Your expressions cannot
be so exaggerated. You have to pay more attention to your body
language because of the wide shots."
"Derek's works are very
realistic. Before I went to Hongkong, I had heard that he's
very fierce and was told to be careful."
"But
he's actually very nice to the actors and he would spend time
to get to know you better. He'd try to know your character and
your small habits to get the best from your most natural performance.
"He took me to see Hongkong's
nightlife and Peter to a press conference to prepare us for
our roles."
Fann is now in Taiwan
filming the music videos for her third solo Mandarin album,
Fann Wong Thinking Of You, which will be released next month.
She is currently seen in the
Channel 8 10-episode drama serial, Out To Win.
